Description
Iron Fortress Records has exhumed ‘Descend Into Deprivation’, along with two tracks from the 1999 ‘Decryption Promo’, from Long Island’s Entorturement, resurrected with a 2026 remaster by Scott Oliphant (Colossus Audio/Dying Remains).
Whether drawn to the old school, classic New York Death Metal or the new blood keeping that same DNA alive today, ‘Descend Into Deprivation’ is essential listening, capturing Long Island’s Entorturement in their original late-’90s form, as they execute riff-first brutal death metal built on groove-heavy NYDM foundations, all delivered with a gritty, street-level edge.
Like upscaling an early-’00s gore video, the remaster does nothing to soften or modernize any of the material found on ‘Descend Into Deprivation’, and instead brings the brutality into sharper focus, leaving every part of it just as merciless as it was when originally recorded 18 years ago.
Whether you’ve been listening to brutal death metal since the late ’90s or weren’t even born then, ‘Descend Into Deprivation’ belongs in any collection and is available for pre-order exclusively on MC, CD, and vinyl via Iron Fortress Records, marking its first time on vinyl and cassette.
